Program Information
Mathematics
The girls learn about concepts such as order of operations, ratios, fractions, single-variable algebra equations, the coordinate plane, basic geometry, probability, and statistics. They learn a new topic every week of the program and complete a pre-test, review, and post-test to evaluate their improvement over the program. There are four curriculum levels: transition, foundation, fundamental, and mastery. Transition is designed for rising sixth grade students. They are grouped into these levels by their score on the diagnostic pre-test. The multi-layer curriculum of the program allows girls to complete SHINE multiple times and learn at their own pace.

Dance
The girls always stretch and complete a warm-up routine in order to warm up their muscles and avoid injury. Our students learn three dances for every recital, each of which challenges them to combine technique and character to create a great performance. They will also learn 20 technique steps that come from a jazz and ballet curriculum. The girls are encouraged to have confidence in their abilities and have fun with the dance.
